Hello Everyone!
I really like the pastel colours of Easter. This year I have made a wallhanging using the pattern and tutorial from the blog Inspired by Fabric.

I wanted to make something that I can use for Easter and also for spring since I live in the southern hemisphere. I made this piece using scraps from my ever-growing stash of cotton fabrics. It is a lot of fun just to dig through my fabrics and decide what to use for a new project. Of course fabric shopping is fun, but it is very satisfying to find new combinations and make a new project from fabrics that I already have.
There are lots of half square triangles in this project, which makes it very beginner friendly. I have used three different small print pink colours and a yellow stripe for tulips and pinwheels. For leaves and stems, I used two green colours, one small print and one solid. The background is scraps of tone on tone white prints and for binding I used one of the pink colours.

I quilted the wall hanging with straight lines in different directions because it is easy to do and it looks good.
I also like to put some effort into making a quilt label, to make the project my own. On the back of this quilt I used my sewing machine for my initials and year and then I appliquéd an egg shape next to the text. I really enjoy experimenting with quilt labels so much, I could probably do a blog post on that topic alone.

Are you sewing anything for Easter this year? If you would like more inspiration you can have a look here and here. Until next time, happy sewing and take care!
