This past week I made a small backpack out of a fat quarter pack. I used 4 fat quarters with different prints in grey and pink and 2 plain fat quarters for lining.
I have a new PDF sewing pattern in my Etsy shop. It is for a backpack that I have had a lot of fun putting together.
I made one in denim and faux leather/pleather and one in quilting weight cotton with a marvel print and cotton drill fabric. The lining fabric is also quilting weight cotton and you only need 7/8 yd. each of the main fabric and lining fabric and only 1/3 yd. of the contrast fabric/faux leather. I have used thin iron on batting for stability. The only hard ware you need is 2 D-rings or square rings, 2 sliders and a magnetic button. You also need 2 zippers and a drawstring cord.
