100 blog posts in 5 years

Hello Everyone!

This is a very special post. I have been blogging for five years and this is my 100th post. So I guess I am not posting very often but do my best to make the posts enjoyable reading.
A lot of sewing has happened during these five years of course, I am much better at making patterns and my Etsy shop is going really well. My bestselling pattern is my Laptop / Tablet Case PDF Sewing Pattern and you can read about it here.

My most read posts are the tutorial for headphone pouch without a zipper and my sons stethoscope case. These are free tutorials that you can find on my tutorials page and download as PDFs and print. There is also other free patterns/tutorials you can find there. Why don’t you have a look? You can find it here or in the menu.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Like most people I am happy to see the back of 2020 and hope that 2021 will be a better one.

Thank you for all your support, my Etsy shop has been very successful this year. I am very grateful for this and it inspires me to keep going and make new patterns. Sewing is a great thing to do when having to stay home.

My most read blogpost this year again is my free headphone pouch tutorial that you can download from my tutorials page and read about here.

Another very popular blogpost and my most pinned image on pinterest this year is my take on this bag that I made for my daughter’s Hermione Granger cosplay outfits. You can find it here.

Another popular post and image is this case that I made for one of sons friends when they started med school 5 years ago. I have been asked to make surgical caps, maybe a blogpost for 2021.

All the best and may 2021 be a better year for us all.
Happy sewing and take care!

Black and White Cushion Covers

Hello Everyone,

It is almost Christmas and summer holidays here in Australia. I’ve had a really hectic couple of months so today I took my youngest daughter out off school for the day and went to the beach. It turned out to be a really nice day.

The only sewing I’ve had time for lately is two more cushion covers. They are a house warming present for my Cousin Camilla in Sweden. She is also a very good friend and support to me. They should arrive in the mail this week. The cushions I made last month you can find here.

How to make the cushions you can find on my Tutorials Page as a downloadable PDF or here. The only difference is that back and front of the cushions are quilted. The zipper is inserted exactly as in the tutorial.

The first of the cushions is made of 2 1/2“ squares and then quilted 1/4” on each side from the seam in a contrasting colour. On the back I quilted the same as the front but black thread on black fabric.

The second one is made of 2 1/2” x 4 1/2” rectangles that was sew together in pairs in to 4 1/2” squares and sewn together with the rectangles in different directions. It was quilted in the same way on both back and front but in a larger grid.

Here is a couple of pictures from today. A very nice day indeed. The pattern to the handbags, The Alex Bag, you can find in my Etsy Shop.

Until next time, take care and happy sewing!

Annika
