It’s been nearly three months since I wrote a blogpost last, one of my longest breaks since I started my blog. The last post I wrote in early November was about sewing your own Christmas wrapping. I also had plans to make a Christmas table runner tutorial and write about making other Christmas decorations.
My world stopped in early November when my Dad unexpectedly past away. He lived in Sweden and I live in Australia, luckily our international borders opened the very same week he past away and I am very grateful that I got go. It was a very stressful trip in many ways; saying good bye to my dad and the funeral, starting to take my parents home of 20 years apart, totally unprepared for an early Swedish winter that we hadn’t experienced in 30 years and also due to changing Covid regulations all over the world. But it was also positive experiences, I got to see my mum who is in a nursing home now and my sister for the first time since 2019, I met relatives and family friends I hadn’t seen for many years.

I haven’t done much sewing over the past three months but I did make time for some fabric retail therapy. There is some very nice fabric shops around here and I managed to buy several pieces during January. Not that I haven’t got enough fabric, but pretty fabric is a weekness of mine and when there is pretty fat quarter bundles of fabric that goes very well together is just too much.

My next project will be something for me, maybe a new laptop case or a new beach bag. I also have a couple of back to school gifts to make. My WIP crochet project is a throw that I hope to finish before winter. I plan on writing more tutorials and patterns during 2022. In the meantime have look at my tutorials page and pattern shop for ideas. It is still summer holidays here and I am very fortunate to live close to the beach. Being close to the water is healing for the soul.
Until next time, happy sewing and take care.
