Scrap Fabric Sewing – Table Runner

Stack and cut table runner

Hello, I hope you are well and have had some time for sewing or other crafting. I did make a table runner last week inspired by a video tutorial made by Teresa Down Under Sewn Up, you can find it here.

I am happy with the result. I usually don’t use brown in my projects but it worked well here. It’s a fun easy project stacking four 10″squares of fabric and cutting them at the same time. Needless to say that the pattern is great for scraps and can be made in any colour or print fabric. I added a scrappy binding using three of the fabrics. I didn’t use the dark brown fabric in the binding because I thought it would be too much contrast in the binding.

I quilted the table runner with clear polyester thread using my walking foot. I did a wavy seams along the length of the table runner, about 1/2″ apart.

Speaking of scrap project, I have finished my crochet hexagon throw and it turned out so much better than I expected. I started it in 2015 and decided to finish it during lockdown in August last year. You can read more about the project here.

It is soon Valentines Day, I haven’t made a new valentine project this year but there is a few on my tutorials page. My favourite is this one. Happy Valentines Day!

Until next time, happy sewing and take care!

Annika
