Hello Everyone!
To get my sewing and pattern inspiration back, I decided to try someone else’s pattern and make something for me. Except for some mask sewing I haven’t really been sewing for the past six months. Mostly due to moving house in strict lockdown.
I came across The Harris Tote and Clutch Wallet on the new Craftsy. The pattern is from Spencer Ogg Sewing Patterns. It was a fairly easy pattern that I enjoyed making over two evenings.

I didn’t make any changes to the pattern more than I didn’t like the bag foam that I had at home so I used interfacing and iron on batting for the tote bag. All the materials I already had at home. As I mentioned in my last post, moving house made me realise how much stuff we had including sewing stuff, so I want to use what I already have as much as possible and finish some unfinished projects.

I don’t remember when and where I bought the fabric. It is a really pretty quilting cotton and for lining I used a beige homespun. I like the beach and beach colours.
The clutch has two credit card slots and room for a large phone, maybe keys and some make up too.

The tote bag has plenty of room for a tablet or small laptop, a diary or a couple of books. There is also a zippered pocket in the lining. Maybe I should have added a magnetic closure to the bag.
I had faux leather handles at home, but it would work well with handles made from fabric too. Like this bag that I made for my daughter a while back.
This was a really fun make, nice to be sewing again.
Happy sewing and take care!
Annika
